goals

goals, we all have them! and this is the time of year when we all reflect on the goals we accomplished over the year. and make new goals for the year ahead. this years goals for me were to start my at home photography business, raynemaker images. i did it! and im so proud of myself for it too! it feels good for once in my life, to set a goal for myself and stick to it!

my goals for 2011
business: i would like for raynemaker images to become successfully enough to be able to quit my job working as a hostess and stay home and work for myself full time!!! i know i can do it!
fitness: at least 3 days of yoga a week and 2 days of cardio. starting 1/1/2011
personal: learn to become more organized!!!

i feel like 2011 is going to be a BIG year for me! lots of fun adventures to go on, people to meet and things to see and do! so far this blog has been mostly about my personal life more than my business, but stay tuned for a ton of photos and fun photography posts! and like i say...

remember to smile! life is beautiful!!!

what goals did you set for yourself this year? did you achieve them? and what goals do you have for 2011??? inquiring minds want to know! =)

what is raynemaker images?

so, this is a blog about my life and starting my at home business of photography. my business is called Raynemaker images... rayne is my middle name, i thought it was a cool way to incorporate my name without actually using the whole name... fancy huh? my philosaphy for taking photos is not necisarily to pose people and tell them how to smile, thats fine for some, but, thats what jc penny or picture people is for... i want to capture their personality! who you are! thats what a photo is to me! i absolutly love doing location photo shoots! i also have an in home studio that i enjoy shooting in.

i met with my web designer today, she is doing an amazing job, it looks great!!!! once my site is up and running you will be able to head over there and see most of my work... for now just enjoy this sneak peek!

and like i always say, remember to smile! life is beautiful!

woke up this morning and threw the ham in the oven, my first ever ham! walked the pooches, they have been locked in the house for the last week due to all the rain, so they were more than ready for todays walk, so was i! when we got home i rolled out the dough for cinnamon rolls, batch 2, im for once going to be nice and treat all the mean people i work with to some treats from me.

bunny and i had to work today, so we ate a christmas eve lunch... ham, came out perfect! stuffing and sweet potatoes. and of course i had a cinnamon roll or 2,,, after this weekend, if i dont see another holiday treat till next christmas, that will be ok by me!

happy holidays part 2

tuesday erik and i woke up to a cold rainy morning with nothing to do! what a concept! our lives are always so full of work, play and household duties that it was just nice to wake up and say, lets stay in our jammies all the live long day! so. we did!

i decided to throw the cinnamon mess back into the oven in the hopes that it would cook the rest of the way through, and i wouldnt have to trow it out, then i forgot about it, and this is what happened.

after feeling defeated, buttcheeks decided to help me roll out the rest of the dough. it pays to have a chef
for a husband.

perfect cinnamon rolls.

with maple icing.

they were to die for!

we also watched the rest of season 4 of my name is earl  -have you seen this show? hilarious! turn on netflix right now and watch all 4 seasons, you can thank me later-  and then, we decided, the awesome cheaters that we are, that since we have to work on christmas day, we should just open our presents now! so... we did!

our house went from looking like this

to this! in about 5 minutes!

here is a small recap of some of the lovely things we got for each other

we spend the rest of the day eating leftovers and enjoying sugary christmas treats! what are some of your favorite things to do at christmas???

happy holidays part 1

this weekend we celebrated our christmas holiday. since we are in the restaurant industry, we dont get many holidays off... but we always make the best of it. bunny still hadnt done any of his shopping for me, so he and our friend mike went out in the crazy rain to shop at the mall. i invited my friend danielle and her son michael over for dinner, some christmas baking and movie watching, we didnt make it to the movie watching part.

i made a roasted chicken and pizza for dinner. kinda a buffet type deal. after dinner the boys went into the living room to play video games and danielle and i got to our baking.

i planned on making snicker doodles and cinnamon rolls. when it comes to baking, im a novice, so i try to stick to things that are fairly easy. i normally try to stay away from things that include yeast... but this recipe looked easy, so i thought id give it a try. everything was going fine, untill it was time to roll out the dough... i didnt add nearly enough flower to roll out the dough and added way to much butter... and this is what happened!

we decided to roll it up into one huge bun and bake it just to see what happens

a huge doughy bun mess,

the twists that danielle made were not as easy peasy as she would have thought either. the first batch came out great, but by the second batch, because of all of the laughing at me she did, she waited to long to get the dough into the oven, and they came out flat, good but flat.

by the end of our baking fiasco, it was close to midnight! we were all exhausted! now danielle and i have a saying... looks can be deceiving! just because something doesnt look exactly like you thought, doesnt mean it doesnt taste good! hahha!

meet my familia

hello internet! i just realized every one of my blog posts have been in a different font, i think this may be a trend for me. anywho, since im new to the blogging world, i thought you should meet the family.

kilauni-
im a coffee and social networking whore! you will always find me with, if not both, one of the following in my hand... my iphone and a cup of VERY STRONG coffee. im litterlay addicted to facebook and twitter. and dont even try to approach me before ive had my first pot cup of coffee. my home is filled with animal hair, so dont come over if you are allergic to dogs, cats or hair, kthanks.

erik-
meet the hubbs, most often referred to by me as either, buttcheeks or bunny... his is my hunny bunny buttcheeks :) hes a chef, sportbike rider, adrenaline junkie, and musician and i love him to pieces. you will most times find him on his iphone researching his newest obsession or jamming in his studio. or between march and november hes that flash of light you see passing you on the track!

harley-
this is harley the overly obsessive pomeranian, he loves his babies and his mom. he dislikes (very much) his sister and brother... hes still on the fence about the cats.

roxy-
meet roxy my very special little girl. she is ocd even more than her brother. she is partially blind, partially deaf and despises anyone who gets in between her and her mama! shes a bit of a snaggle tooth, but i love her so!

dude-
oh the dude! hes a lover! of everyone! cats, dogs and humans. mom and dad are his world! he loves a good bone and nice walks. but, if he doesnt know you, i suggest you proceed with caution!

valo-
i should have known better when i met you for the first time in the pet store (i will NEVER buy from a pet store EVER again) and you hissed at me when i picked you up, but it was love at first hiss! hes a lover and a fighter all at the same time.

basil-
the newest addition to our family. shes an all around great cat. as long as she has food and love, shes happy...

so there you have it, a little insight to all the ones that make me, me. my family comes first. and i would do anything for them.
i love my perfect little family.
